(WEST CHESTER, PA) Barclay Park, LLC and Pancoast & Clifford are pleased to announce the construction of a new addition to the historic Hartshorne Mansion. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, April 8th, 2021.
Located adjacent to Barclay Park, Hartshorne Mansion is a colonial revival Italianate building built in 1867 as a private residence. It now serves a professional office complex with 37 office suites, a conservatory lounge, and a wraparound deck overlooking the historic grounds.
Designed by VLBJR Architects, the planned 17,409 square feet addition will feature a brick and glass façade, combining historical aspects of the original building with contemporary design elements. Pillar Real Estate Advisors will be managing the leasing for the property.
Pancoast & Clifford received several awards at the Eastern Pennsylvania Associated Builders and Contractors 2019 Excellence in Construction Awards Gala.
The newly constructed Broomall Firehouse was awarded first place in the Institutional $5-10 million category. Designed by Bernardon Architects, this 22,000 state-of-the-art facility accommodates modern apparatus and features an environmentally friendly facility and site.
Willistown Conservation Trust’s Rushton Conservation Center won second place in the Commercial $1-5 million category. This 8,000-square-foot facility was designed by John Milner Architects and contains a timber-frame gathering room, a demonstration kitchen, and a dedicated library and research room.
The Delaware County Christian School’s middle school renovation placed second in the Institutional $1-5 million category. Designed by Bonnett Associates Inc., this project consisted of an extensive renovation of a 17,000 SF middle school building that was completed in 12 weeks.
July 2019 – P&C celebrated the topping off at The River House at Odette’s, a new $25 M luxury boutique hotel located in New Hope, PA.The 54,000-square-foot, 34-room hotel is scheduled to open in Spring 2020.
July 2019 – P&C began renovations to Otto’s MINI in West Chester. The project includes the renovation of an existing building into a new auto showroom.
May 2019 – P&C completed construction on Holiday Inn & Suites – Drexel Hill, a brand new hotel that includes 86 guest rooms and 14 suites, conference facilities, an indoor pool and fitness center, along with a patio bar and lounge.
April 2019 – P&C began extensive interior renovations of First Unitarian Church of Wilmington’s historic building. The renovation includes new interior finishes, a new ADA ramp, and an accessible elevator.
November 2018 – P&C recently completed construction on the Rushton Conservation Center in Newtown Square, a facility that will advance the Willistown Conservation Trust’s research and education activities. The timber-frame building includes a library, field station, research and meeting spaces, and an open demonstration kitchen.
March 2019 – P&C completed construction on the Broomall Firehouse. The new, state-of-the-art firehouse is designed to accommodate modern apparatus and recent advances in firefighting technology. The 22,000-square-foot facility is located at the northeast corner of West Chester Pike and Malin Road.
March 2019 – P&C began renovations at the historic Mattison Estate in Upper Dublin, the residence that industrialist Richard Mattison remodeled to resemble Windsor Castle. The property surrounding the castle is being developed into a residential subdivision and a senior living community.
August 2018 – P&C was awarded the contract to build the Newtown Square Firehouse. The 20,900-square-foot firehouse will be located at Ellis Preserve. The building will feature six apparatus bays large enough to house modern firefighting equipment.
June 2018 – Pancoast & Clifford started an extensive renovation at the Salem Baptist Church in Abington. The project includes renovating a 1400-seat sanctuary with a 500-seat banquet facility on the lower level, an academic building with 24 classrooms, a senior center, and an administration building that houses corporate offices.
September 2018 – Pancoast & Clifford is pleased to announce the contract for construction of The Riverhouse at Odette’s, a boutique luxury hotel, has been awarded to P&C.
Located on the property of the historic Chez Odette’s on the banks of the Delaware River in New Hope, PA, this 54,000 SF luxury boutique hotel will contain 34 guestrooms and suites, a rooftop lounge with an open-air bar, and Odette’s Restaurant and Lounge, which will feature indoor and outdoor seating, a piano bar, and cabaret.
Designed by Stokes Architecture, The Riverhouse at Odette’s will include meeting and conference facilities, private dining rooms, and an open-concept ballroom with floor-to-ceiling retractable exterior glass walls. The hotel will feature natural, reclaimed materials and highlight local art.

June 2018 – Pancoast and Clifford is pleased to announce three noteworthy projects that have broken ground in 2018.
The Willistown Conservation Trust has awarded P&C the Rushton Conservation Center at Rushton Woods Preserve. This facility was conceived and designed to advance the Willistown Conservation Trust’s research and education activities. The building will include a library, research and meeting space, a field station, and a demonstration kitchen.
In addition, Delaware County Christian School has entrusted P&C to undertake a comprehensive renovation of their 17,000 SF middle school facility during their summer recess. This renovation will include 12 classroom and laboratory spaces, administrative offices, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and window replacement.
Most recently, the Broomall Fire Company awarded P&C the construction of their new 22,000 SF fire station, which will accommodate modern apparatus and recent advances in firefighting technology and will optimize response time.
